Workshops are suitable for children & families. You can attend all workshops independently and there will also be an assisting guide during the day.
Changing locations, flat surface, workshops suitable, great outdoor activity! In the rain, the customer is responsible to arrange a tent or the interior inside.

ART TRAINING FOR ALL AGES
Outdoor activity (summer) and indoor activity. Art training starts in Snellman Parks corner, Minna Canthin katu 24 Kuopio.

- PHOTOGRAPHING
Environmental photography workshop.
In this photography workshop students take documentary photos in the surrounding environment with a smartphone. The aim of the workshop is to challenge students to see their own environment differently.
Remember to take your own smartphone!

Music, rhythm and body workshop.
In the workshop we sing and make rhythms together. While learning simple polyphonic songs and improvising with the rhythms we get to know our own voice and learn a different way of being together though music. And we won’t forget our body. Take clothes that will let you move easily.

Dance theatre workshop
In the dance theatre workshop students will first warm up their bodies and do easy exercises. During the workshop students use storytelling, simple words to build movements. In the end, students will combine a short choreography together. Take clothes that can easily move around.

MINNA CANTH GUIDED WALKS
1. Guided tour around Kanttila
Old Kuopio Museum, Kanttila. VB photographic centre, gallery Ars Libera, Art museum and Market place.
The Minna Canth House, also known as Kanttila, is located in Kuopio. It is a building of historical and cultural value that was home to Minna Canth. Duration 2 hours.
2. Minna´s Puijo, guided walk to Puijo
Walkingtour starts at Kuopio Market Place, Tulliportinkatu 31, beside Muuntamo sculpture.
Tour 1: For Adults. 1,5 hours, easy. Possibility to visit Puijo Tower and cafeteria.
Tour 2: Children & Families. Possibility to visit Puijo Tower and cafeteria.
Tour 3: Adults, heavy: There is a route from Puijo Tower where can continue to Puijon Nokka, where you can have a break at wicket and enjoy coffee at campfire. From there you can also take bus back to Market Square of Kuopio.
Puijo is located in the middle of the city of Kuopio. We walk from the Kuopio travel center to the Puijo nature reserve, by old Puijo hiking path to Puijo tower, where you can have a break before walking back to city . In Puijo forests you can enjoy the ancient primeval forest and hear, surrounded by paths and mosses, why Puijo was such a beloved source of inspiration for Minna Canth.
Minna Canth (1844-1879) was a writer, journalist, businesswoman, single-parent and a mother of a large family. She was also a strong social influencer whose life’s work played a major role in developing Finland as a forerunner in education and equality. Canth was the first Finnish woman to have her own national flag day designated in the calendar on March 19.’
Puijo’s nature conservation was required at the end of the 19th century, but the first protected area was founded in 1928. Puijo hill and Puijo Tower on its top are Kuopio’s most famous tourist attractions. The first tower in Puijo opened in 1856. The current tower dates back to 1963.

Satamankulma
Did you know that Anya Pro’s office used to be located in Satamankulma? In 2014-2016, Satamankulma served as a meeting place for dozens of artists and actors. The premises at Minna Canthin katu 4 -street in Kuopio Harbor included a room theater, an art gallery, a cultural shop and workspaces. A completely new type of production model was developed for the concept, from operators’ suppliers, from space reservations to content implementation. Satamankulma was very well received by operators and customers, and almost 27,000 visitors attended the events and events in two years.
However, Satamankulma’s facilities had to be abandoned in 2015. Satamankulma’s operations are suspended for the time being. The search for new premises is underway.
